The Importance Of Women Supporting Women

Sometimes you need to take a sharp intake of breath and acknowledge just how far you have come!

The message in my e-mail from Sandra Goodman PhD confirmed my 2.5k article in Positive Health Magazine, AND that I had the front cover with one of my paintings.

I was proud.

Positive Health Magazine receives over 5 million views per year and is visited by 3000+ people every day!

These people will see my artwork and read my article.

This is what happens when you are recognised as an expert in your field.

In this article I am talking about the healing powers of creativity based on my experience, nothing out of the ordinary right?

But for some people this will be what they need to see today.

I can’t take all the credit for my journey nor for my positioning because lots of people have influenced me along the way.

I wanted to shout out to two women in particular today. If I had not come across them and attended their networking meetings, then this painting ‘You Raise Me Up’ would not exist.

Leona Burton & Heather Rose, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. This image, inspired by Mib Int Networking which shows the power of women supporting women has made it to this cover AND I have entered it into the Luxemburg Art Prize Competition.

None of us ‘make it’ alone, we all have help and support, make sure that you take the time to thank and credit those who have helped you on your way up.

Obviously, there are many more people who have helped me, but the spotlight today goes to these ladies.

Thank you.

Here is a snippet of the article…

People often misunderstand creativity and immediately assume that it means artists, authors, crafters, designers etc. This is a mistake because creativity is an approach, and it starts with a thought. The ability to imagine the possibilities in life. The ability to see how things can improve whilst capturing the moment and living it. How I used my thoughts to shape my recovery from bereavement and trauma during this time set the standard for the rest of my life. If you can see it, you can create it.
